The Southport School is a leading Anglican Day and Boarding School for boys situated on the banks of the beautiful Nerang River in the heart of the Gold Coast. The School has a vibrant Boarding, Education, Cultural and Sporting program that extends across the full year and two campuses. We are seeking an expressions of interest from an experienced Organist to join our Chapel team accompanying services in our historic St Alban’s Chapel on our beautifully restored pipe organ or chapel keyboard. This is a unique opportunity to pursue your passion of pipe organs. This position requires the following weekday, evening and weekend commitments during the school year : Monday evening chapel – 6.15pm-7.15pm Morning chapels – 8.15am-9.15am (Tues/Wed/Thu) Major Chapels (during term time)– Easter, St Alban’s Day, Thanksgiving Service, Christmas Carols Special Chapels – Occasional Weekday Days & Evenings and Weekends throughout the school year (as per the schedule) -Including but not limited to: House Chapels (throughout the year), Old Boys (Aug) Memorial Chapel (Nov), Valedictory (Nov). This schedule will be provided in advance as events are set in our school calendar. All candidates will be willing to support the Anglican Code of Conduct and Anglican Ethos of the School. Applicants must hold or be eligible to hold a working with children Paid Blue Card and will be asked to provide a recent criminal history check certificate. Applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding of appropriate and professional boundaries and standards when working with children and young people.
