With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Grade 3 Paediatric Speech Pathologist Speech Pathology Department | Northern Health Craigieburn and Epping  Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 3 Paediatric Speech Pathologist to join the Northern Health team.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role This senior clinical role requires an experienced paediatric Speech Pathologist with advanced skills in communication, feeding and swallowing disorders, along with a strong commitment to leadership, quality improvement and family-centred care.  The Grade 3 Paediatric Speech Pathologist provides specialist assessment and management for infants and children with complex feeding and swallowing difficulties, including aspiration risk, paediatric feeding disorders, oral aversion and children requiring Home Enteral Nutrition (HEN). The role works collaboratively with Dietitians within a multidisciplinary home-based feeding service model and provides leadership across the Paediatric Speech Pathology NDIS Program.  The role also provides senior speech pathology input within the Developmental Paediatrics program, including assessment of young children where the diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is unclear. The position holds responsibility for the coordination, triage and clinical oversight of the Northern Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment Clinic (NASDAC), including multidisciplinary assessment pathways and family feedback processes.  This role is responsible for: Coordinating the Northern Autism Spectrum Disorder Assessment Clinic (NASDAC), including triaging referrals and facilitating multidisciplinary input from Paediatricians, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists and Speech Pathologists. This includes active clinical participation in the clinic one day per week. Providing comprehensive assessment and management of paediatric outpatients, with a focus on feeding and swallowing disorders. Supporting continuity of care by facilitating smooth transitions from acute hospital admission to community-based services, ensuring families are connected with appropriate long-term supports and resources prior to discharge. Providing clinical leadership, supervision and expert consultation to speech pathology staff and students. Contributing to service development, quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practice. Providing expert advice and reporting to clinical leaders and the Associate Director to support strategic and operational priorities.  To be successful in this role you will have: Extensive experience in paediatric feeding and swallowing disorders within a hospital or health service setting. Advanced skills in communication assessment and management within developmental services. Proven ability to provide clinical leadership and work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams. Demonstrated professionalism and the ability to communicate effectively with families and leadership teams. Well-developed organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
