They are located just outside Beaudesert, in the beautiful Scenic Rim region, with 87 employees on site, they produce 4000 tonnes of gelatine per year. All of the gelatine is sold as edible gelatine, some 60% being supplied to the confectionery industry, the remainder being used in dairy and pharmaceutical applications. They are seeking the services of a qualified QLD Electrician to join their maintenance team of 10 people. The work is interesting and varied, may be out on the farm or down by the river working on pumps etc. Gas boiler on site so some hot area work required. They have a big shutdown for 2 weeks in January in line with abattoir closures so work will be on empty tanks and fixing shafts etc. The role: Undertake breakdown repair activities on electrical or mechanical instruments and/or equipment. Undertake preventative maintenance activities on mechanical or electrical instruments and/or equipment. Undertake equipment installation activities on mechanical or electrical instruments and/or equipment. Keep records relating to spare parts stocks and engineering consumables. Keep records relating to plant and equipment including equipment details and spare parts identification. Perform work to the relevant standards and codes where applicable. Make recommendations regarding plant, equipment and procedures, which could improve safety, quality and financial outcomes. On-call roster arrangement requiring work outside of standard hours from time to time. Other reasonable and relevant tasks completed as required from time to time. Requirements: Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to plan own work. Ability to read and understand procedures, drawings and specifications. Ability to keep maintenance records. Ability to troubleshoot electrical/mechanical instruments and/or equipment. Computer literate. About You: Trade qualification either mechanical or electrical. Other Conditions/Certification Senior First Aid Certificate – CPR. A Class Drivers Licence / Forklift Licence / Front End Loader Licence. Current Drivers’ Licence. Relevant boiler operator’s ticket. An electrical licence relevant to the site, for example communication, cabling, high voltage as well as an electrical (and instrumentation) qualification. MUST have Q Fever vaccination or be willing to get it! Need to live within 40mins ideally eg. Canungra, Beaudesert or Kooralbyn etc, would suit someone sick of city commute. Very specific industry with different machinery so need someone able and happy to learn. Experienced with lathes, machining, pumps, valves, welding - mig & tig, stainless, food industry or FMCG knowledge.
