UGL is the lead electrical contractor for preventative and corrective maintenance as well as project work for power, communications, and security systems on University of Queensland sites throughout QLD. You’ll work across a diverse environment including commercial buildings, research facilities, sports precincts, laboratories and outdoor electrical assets. We currently have multiple positions available at the St Lucia campus for Experienced Maintenance Electricians who takes pride in safe work, quality outcomes and solving technical challenges in a customer‑focused environment. What You’ll Be Doing Preventative and corrective electrical maintenance Fault finding, diagnosis and repairs Installation, testing, commissioning and certifying electrical equipment and appliances Switchboard upgrades, control panel work and switchgear maintenance Cabling, earthing systems, lighting systems and appliance testing Completing compliance documentation and certificates of testing Supporting minor works and project upgrades across campus This is a hands‑on, technical role where you’ll work both independently and alongside a skilled team, keeping UQ’s electrical infrastructure operating safely and reliably. About You Current QLD Electrical Licence Current LVR/CPR Experience in commercial or industrial maintenance environments Strong fault‑finding capability Ability to interpret drawings and complete installations to AS/NZS 3000 Ability to work independently and within a team Highly Regarded (not essential) HV Operator Certification Working at Heights & EWP over 11m CommScope & Molex certifications Security equipment installer licence Experience with NXS, Nexus LX/RF, Zoneworks & Clevertronics systems Solar CEC accreditation Please note a rigorous pre-employment medical including drug and alcohol screening will be conducted for short-listed candidates.
