It has campuses in the Sydney Dental Hospital (in inner-eastern Sydney), the Westmead Centre for Oral Health at Westmead Hospital (in western Sydney), the Nepean Centre for Oral Health and outreach service-based teaching is undertaken across the state of NSW. We are seeking an experienced Lecturer to play a significant role in teaching in the Tooth Conservation in Simulation Clinic in the BOH program at the School of Dentistry of Faculty of Medicine and Health. The role requires a motivated clinical educator with experience in working in a clinical setting, teaching in a tertiary environment, supervising, or mentoring students and coordinating team activities. Your key responsibilities will be to: · teach into undergraduate BOH course in the Tooth Conservation in Simulation Clinic in the BOH program and, when needed, engage in clinical teaching of BOH students in a clinical setting. · take on responsibility for unit of study coordination and contribute to curriculum development · contribute to the faculty’s academic program of innovation in education and excellence in governance · contribute to administrative aspects of teaching, research, and community-industry engagement · have opportunities to engage with the profession of Dentistry and the public, and collaborate with our clinical partners and staff in research, teaching, and industry engagement · work as an effective team member and, as required, coordinate units of study · undertake academic administration associated with units of study, assessment, quality assurance and student progression About you · relevant qualifications (BOH/DDS/DMD degree or equivalent, PhD is not required) and extensive relevant experience or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and qualifications/training · registered in NSW as health professional in relevant discipline- as dentist or oral health therapist (with adult scope) · demonstrated capacity to stimulate, actively engage and educate students in the provision of outstanding patient care · demonstrated success in designing, implementing, and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives with a clinical focus · demonstrated knowledge of teaching and coordination processes in Sydney Dental School relevant for the role · significant experience working in a clinical setting and proven ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform pedagogical practice (usually more than 3 years post accredited primary healthcare qualification). · experience in teaching in a tertiary environment, as evidenced by participation in team teaching within an established program and experience in teaching in clinic and/or simulation clinic settings either as academic or casual staff Sponsorship / work rights for Australia You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply.
