To support these strategic aims, we are recruiting a fantastic opportunity for a Lecturer in Academic Development and Leadership (Education Focused) within our Division of Teaching and Learning team in the DVC Education & Students Portfolio. Education-focused roles are a specialised category of academic engagement reserved for talented educators with a passion for, and demonstrated excellence in, pedagogical practice and design. In this role you will be expected to make a significant contribution to teaching and learning practice, design and evaluation within the program and will be on a trajectory towards leadership in educational design and delivery. The majority of your contribution will be within education (70%), with a proportion of workload (20%) available for research. Your key responsibilities will be to: work within a teaching team, reporting to the Professor of Education Scholarship, to contribute to the delivery of educational programs and experiences that support staff and student needs contribute to professional development courses for educators, with a particular focus on providing high-quality feedback and assessment of participant work contribute to outstanding educational design, delivery, evaluation and outcomes develop and evaluate assessment materials which align with best practice education apply scholarship and knowledge of contemporary pedagogical practice to educational innovation develop and suggest innovative practices in teaching and learning with a view to improving educational outcomes demonstrate impact through improving student outcomes, experiences and learning. About you experience with academic development and the support of other educators and their practice high-level oral and written communication skills and the ability to lead and influence success in designing, implementing and evaluating teaching and learning initiatives, preferably in a tertiary academic development context passion and expertise for, and excellence in, university teaching and academic development expertise in the effective use of technology in teaching at the tertiary level proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team and with a range of professional and academic staff in a range of disciplines at a whole of university level strong attention to detail and deadlines awarded Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy UK or higher a PhD or other postgraduate qualifications in Higher Education or similar is desirable.
