The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced General Manager to lead a well-established hotel set within lush tropical gardens, a true oasis in North Queensland. With the hotel entering a refurbishment, this role presents a unique chance to guide the property through its next phase of renewal, building on a stable, committed team and a strong operational foundation. You'll take a hands-on role in elevating the guest experience, championing refreshed accommodations and food & beverage offerings, and positioning the hotel as a standout destination for events and travellers alike. Skills and Experience The ideal candidate will bring the following: Oversee daily hotel operations, ensuring smooth and efficient performance across all departments. Deliver a consistently exceptional and memorable guest experience with a focus on warmth and attention to detail. Lead a motivated, stable leadership team and ensure a high level of engagement across the entire hotel workforce. Cultivate a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performance culture that fosters team success. Manage the hotel's P&L, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to drive financial success. Maximise revenue across all channels, including rooms, food & beverage, events, and other ancillary services. Enhance the hotel's market visibility with targeted and effective sales and marketing strategies. Develop and maintain strong relationships with local businesses, corporate clients, and community partners. Ensure full compliance with workplace health and safety, employment laws, and brand standards. Supervise maintenance programs, safeguard assets, and implement sustainability initiatives. Experience working within franchise or management agreement settings is highly desirable. Proficiency with Opera or similar property management systems (PMS) is preferred. Strong knowledge of the local market or exceptional community engagement skills will be highly valued.
