About the role We are looking for a Patient Care Assistant to join our friendly team of five at SKG Radiology based at the St John of God Murdoch campus in Murdoch, WA, on a full time basis. As a Patient Care Assistant, you will be an integral part in the team by providing a high standard of patient service in the areas of patient transfer and support to our technical staff. They are responsible for assisting with the transfer and transport of hospital in-patients to and from SKG’s Murdoch Department & SKG/GenesisCare department and will be required to take on additional departmental tasks as directed. There is no direct patient care i.e. showering, toileting as part of this position. This position is Full Time, working 75 hours per fortnight, Monday to Friday. Full working rights are a required as successful candidate must be able to participate in weekend and public holiday rosters. Role requirements A caring, compassionate nature Outstanding communication and time management skills Ability to relate and build rapport with a diverse range of people Excellent customer service skills A Patients First focus The ability to work in a multidisciplinary team The ability to work under pressure in an ever-changing environment Proven patient-care experience A Certificate III in Health Service Assistance/Health Support Services or similar will be an advantage. Be able to provide evidence of vaccination/immunity/screening to a list of vaccine-preventable diseases Please note that this role will involve the transportation and transfer of patients and as such the successful candidate must be physically fit to undertake all duties required for the position.
