The opportunity We’re seeking a Statutory Reporting Lead – Accounting Policy to join our Corporate Services division within the Statutory Reporting & Policy team. In this senior technical role, you’ll lead the development, governance and interpretation of accounting policies across the Fund, ensuring alignment with Australian Accounting Standards (AASB), APRA Prudential Standards and relevant legislation. As a trusted technical advisor, you’ll partner closely with senior leaders and executives, supporting high‑quality statutory and regulatory reporting in a large, complex superannuation environment. Key aspects of the role include: Leading the development and maintenance of accounting policies, position papers and technical guidance Providing expert technical accounting advice on complex transactions, investments, insurance and fund restructures Monitoring regulatory and accounting standard changes and leading their implementation Supporting statutory and regulatory reporting, including complex accounting areas and audit engagement Building strong relationships across Finance, Investments, Risk, Compliance, Legal and Operations teams Delivering training and uplift across accounting policy and regulatory interpretation About you You’re a technically strong accounting professional who enjoys operating at the intersection of policy, regulation and strategic decision‑making. You bring credibility, clarity and confidence when engaging with senior stakeholders. You’ll bring: CA or CPA qualification Extensive experience in financial governance, ideally from a Big 4 professional services background Strong technical knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and APRA regulatory requirements Experience providing advice on complex accounting matters and preparing high‑quality technical papers Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong stakeholder engagement and influencing capability Advanced analytical and Excel skills Experience within superannuation, investment accounting or broader financial services is highly regarded, as is experience supporting regulatory or accounting change initiatives.
