The key duties of the position include The Role Based at the Nowra office, this site-based position provides specialist advice across a range of protective security domains including Governance and Risk, Information Security, Technology, Personnel Security, Physical Security. Key duties of the Role: Work under limited direction with opportunity for autonomy and accountability in interpreting policy and the application of practices and procedures with the Defence requirements. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of internal security policies, work instructions, procedures and guidelines within NASPO and CASG Quality Management System (QMS). Apply critical thinking methodologies to research and application of advice to a variety of stakeholders, international defence and external agencies in accordance with ASIO, PSPF and DSPF. Provide site inductions, training and security awareness sessions developing security requirement awareness. Manage DCAC, Security Clearances, travel briefs and Incident investigation activities. Propose and facilitate innovation initiatives across protective security domains and contribute to business improvement strategies and change. Apply effective risk management methodologies to identify and manage security risks. Contribute to the development of Governance reporting, submissions, briefings and discussion papers. This role requires occasional "emergency call in" work and rare "on-call" work. This role works closely with WHS and as such both roles will provide leave coverage for the other. About our Team Working within NASPO, you will be a key team member within the Business Management Unit (BMU). This team delivers consistently high standards of outputs for Fleet Air Arm and Navy Aviation, Aircrew Training and Commons Branch. Each role within this team contributes to supporting the delivery of capability for Navy. They will provide detailed security technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. The ideal candidate will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They must be able to influence others to ensure Security compliance and reporting objectives are achieved. They will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or sensitive issues. The ideal candidate will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes.
