About the role Join a fast-paced, safety-first workshop maintaining a modern fleet — everything done in-house except major rebuilds. Full range of work including preventative maintenance, inspections, general repairs, body work, and auto electrical. Emphasis on working safely and efficiently — “we don’t push people until they hurt themselves.” Duties Conduct preventative maintenance, inspections, and general repairs on a fleet of modern buses. Respond to breakdowns during working hours and ensure all buses are operational for daily schedules. Work safely and efficiently within a fast-paced workshop environment, supporting team members and contributing to an “all-rounder” culture. Maintain accurate records of work performed, assist with team training or guidance where required, and follow standard operating procedures for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, air suspension, and brake systems Skills and experience Relevant trade qualification or Cert III in Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology preferred. Valid driver’s license (class depending on local requirements). Experience as a heavy vehicle or truck mechanic; bus experience is desirable but not essential. · Strong knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, air suspension, and brake systems. Ability to work independently and within a team, with a proactive, positive attitude. Strong organizational and time management skills. Good computer literacy for logging maintenance and repair records. Customer-focused, safety-conscious, and willing to learn. Versatile, all-round mechanical ability rather than specialist bus experience only. Benefits Rotating roster: Morning (6:00–2:30), Mid (10:00–6:30, 15%), and Late (2:00–10:00, 15%). Full-time, 38 hours per week with overtime available. 5 weeks annual leave RDOs (37 days total) with 12.5% leave loading. Earn over $105K per year (excl. OT) plus tool and meal allowances.
