You will support payroll operations for a diverse workforce, including during the 2026 State Election - a high-volume period that offers significant professional exposure. Your role is to facilitate the smooth running of the payroll function by managing critical front-end administrative tasks, providing assistance and support to ensure the technical accuracy of our fortnightly cycles. In this role, you will be responsible for: Data Integrity & Compliance: Ensure accurate processing of timesheets, leave, and allowances in line with internal policies, workplace agreements, and legislation. Lifecycle & Master-file Administration: Manage documentation for all employment changes (onboarding to cessation) and maintain sensitive master-file data, including banking, tax, and superannuation. Calculations & Reporting: Support our Payroll Officers via calculations of required payments and generate essential fortnightly reports. Stakeholder Support: Provide high-level assistance to staff, including Electorate Officers via the payroll inbox and/or phone, including the preparation of formal Statements of Service. Systems & Process Improvement: Administer time-and-attendance systems and contribute to developing streamlined procedures and work instructions. About you We are looking for a payroll support professional who values precision and enjoys problem-solving. You should be able to demonstrate: Technical Competency: Previous experience in payroll administration and an understanding of Australian legislative requirements. Effective Communication: The ability to explain complex payroll matters clearly and professionally to a wide range of people.
