We are seeking a motivated Geotechnical Projects Engineer to join our underground mining team. This role is critical in supporting safe and efficient mining operations through geotechnical engineering practices and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams. This is a permanent position on a 12/9 or 8/6 roster, FIFO, DIDO or residential. A relocation package can be provided for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities • Support geotechnical planning, standards, and compliance for underground and open pit operations. • Conduct ground support and stress analysis, slope stability assessments, and hydrogeological risk reviews. • Collaborate with Mine Planning and site personnel to ensure practical, safe mining sequences. • Maintain geotechnical instrumentation and QA/QC compliance. • Complete underground face mapping and core logging. • Deliver geotechnical reports and awareness training. • Stay current on legislation and geotechnical developments. About you: • Tertiary qualifications in Geotechnical, Rock Mechanics, or Mining Engineering. • 5 years of mining industry experience in a geotechnical capacity with proven knowledge in Underground mining methods • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills. • Proven knowledge of geotechnical investigation and risk management. • Core logging, face mapping, and underground experience essential. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and geotechnical software (preferably Deswik). • Able to work underground and prioritise safety in all tasks.
