About the role The Community Rehabilitation Program provides a short term goal based interdisciplinary rehabilitation program for clients to optimise their functional abilities and independence in the home or community setting. The program operates out of 4 Eastern Health sites (Angliss, Peter James, Wantirna and Lilydale). This role will be predominantly based out of Lilydale, however there is the opportunity of joining this role with another temporary part-time role at the Angliss CRP (0.4 EFT) for the right candidate, and/or additional hours to cover staff vacancies. About you We are seeking a client-centred rehabilitation physiotherapist, with experience working in the community setting to provide excellent client care to a varied caseload of musculoskeletal, neurological and general rehabilitation clients. The successful applicant will provide a home based and centre based service as well as group therapy programs, which may include aquatic therapy and cardiac rehabilitation program cover. There may also be the opportunity to cover the Falls and Balance Clinic as needed (further training will be provided as required). This role provides opportunity to supervise grade 1 rotating physiotherapists and physiotherapy students. Experience in delivering effective supervision and facilitating optimal learning experiences for all is essential. You will need to be an enthusiastic team player who is highly resourceful, agile and innovative. You will have excellent prioritisation, time management and communication skills and a commitment to the ongoing growth, development of yourself and the service. Non-clinical opportunities include potential portfolios and work within our Eastern Health Musculoskeletal Clinical Leadership Group, Physiotherapy Grade 1 Coordination group &/or Physiotherapy Student Coordinators group. This role is a leadership role in our team, setting the bar high for evidence-based practice and quality care. To be successful in this role you will possess: • Recognised tertiary qualification in Physiotherapy • Current registration with the Physiotherapy Board of Australia • Eligibility for practicing membership of the Australian Physiotherapy Association • Sound clinical skills in managing a predominantly musculoskeletal caseload (may also include some neurological, cardio-pulmonary, surgical and general rehabilitation clients), and comprehensive discharge planning using a client-centred approach. • Broad clinical experience encompassing diverse patient presentations. • Previous clinical experience working in an aligned clinical environment. • High level communication skills, both written and oral, especially to allow for client care planning and handover of care. • Demonstrated capacity to work/ show leadership within a multidisciplinary team. • Experience in supervision of staff and/or students. • Excellent time management skills • Demonstrated ability, knowledge and experience to lead the professional development of others • Demonstrated ability to introduce innovative practice. • Commitment to improving own practice and undertaking quality and research activities. • Demonstrated understanding of professional codes of conduct. • Current Victorian driver’s licence.
