What's the role? As the commercial engine for The Australian and Prestige titles, this role is responsible for translating business strategy into profitable, high-engagement client solutions that build upper-funnel brand metrics and influence for both our clients and their customers. Sitting within the publishing unit alongside editorial, the role drives revenue growth across print, digital, audio, events and brand partnerships. This is achieved by developing market-leading commercial solutions in close collaboration with frontline sales teams, promoting brand adoption, and integrating commercial opportunities into compelling client propositions. The team leads the commercialisation of client products and initiatives, ensuring solutions are strategically aligned, operationally executable and financially viable to drive sustainable, profitable growth. The function also safeguards the profitability of all client solutions and commercial product initiatives, balancing client needs with revenue targets and long-term brand equity. Overall Priorities Deliver revenue and category growth across The Australian and Prestige products while maintaining a constructive balance between client objectives and brand integrity. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategy & Revenue Growth Revenue: Drive growth across print, digital, audio, events, and premium partnerships, with a key focus on digital. Innovation: Design and deploy profitable commercial products that meet complex client needs. Audience: Create solutions that connect clients to target audiences and drive brand adoption. 2. Sales Enablement & Portfolio Alignment: Identify high-value opportunities for sales and their clients (e.g., Global Food Forum, Energy Nation) so that they can buy into The Australian media ecosystem their brand and audience objectives. Expertise: Serve as the subject matter expert to empower frontline sales to maximize revenue. Support: Provide the tools and insights necessary to close complex, multi-platform deals. 3. Financial & Operational Excellence Budget: Meet/exceed revenue targets and address gaps through strategic intervention. Leadership: Bridge Sales, Tech, Editorial, and Ops to ensure seamless execution. Roadmap: Lead the commercial product roadmap, ensuring market-leading ad formats. Success Measures Revenue: Achieving print and digital financial targets. Product: Successful commercialisation of new print and digital solutions.
