Description Position Purpose The Laboratory Supervisor plays a vital leadership role in ensuring the safe, precise and compassionate delivery of assisted reproductive services across City Fertility’s laboratories. Working closely with both clinical and scientific teams, you will guide daily operations, uphold exceptional scientific standards, and support patients with empathy and clarity throughout their fertility journey. This role provides the opportunity to mentor laboratory professionals, contribute to complex case management, champion regulatory compliance and foster continuous improvement in embryology and andrology practices. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily laboratory operations to ensure safe, efficient and high ‑ quality service delivery Lead, mentor and develop laboratory team members, fostering a supportive and respectful environment Manage rosters, performance processes, training programs and professional development Oversee complex clinical embryology and andrology procedures Maintain competency across core procedures including semen analysis, insemination, embryo assessment, cryopreservation, thawing, trophectoderm biopsy and embryo transfer Ensure clear, compassionate communication between laboratory staff, clinicians and patients Oversee documentation, reporting, QC measures, QAP assessments and monthly statistical reporting Ensure compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards and the City Fertility Quality Management System Monitor and maintain equipment, environmental conditions, media and consumables Review workloads and caseloads to ensure efficient and equitable task distribution Supervise transport, storage and handling of gametes and embryos Guide donor program processes (SDA/EDA) with accuracy and ethical compliance Support accreditation preparation and continuous improvement initiatives Participate in clinical and laboratory meetings to share insights and recommendations Provide emergency scientific support including weekend and on ‑ call coverage as required What we are looking for The successful candidate will have: Tertiary qualification in Science (minimum Masters Degree level) with advanced embryology/andrology knowledge and current SIRT membership Minimum five years’ experience in IVF laboratory practice, with proven capability in advanced ART procedures Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support a multidisciplinary team while embodying City Fertility’s values of compassion, respect, commitment, quality and communication Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating empathy, clarity and professionalism High attention to detail, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while maintaining compliance and quality standards Why Join City Fertility?
