Description The primary purpose of the role is to provide and support the management of the delivery of day to day and long term facility management across the Villages in WA. The role consists of a significant portion of ‘hands on’ repairs and maintenance work that the Senior Facilities Manager will be required to complete. The Senior Facilities Manager is also responsible for the leadership, recruitment, development and performance of the Property Services Coordinators and Facilities Managers at the Villages. Key Accountabilities - Residential Maintenance - Village Maintenance Plans - Asset Management - Contractor Management - Risk and Safety Management - Stakeholder Relationships Skills And Experiences Technical Skills Demonstrated ability to conduct minor repairs to residential property including such items as: Minor carpentry to repair damaged chairs, beds, tables, doors & cupboards Plumbing – ability to change washers etc. Mechanical repair – basic Ability to communicate information accurately, clearly and in a timely fashion. A commercial approach to business to understand the balance between applying best practice wherever possible against financial necessity. Demonstrated time management skills and ability to multitask between each site at the Village. Ensuring that the FM services are consistently managed and delivered at all sites. Excellent communication skills for the preparation for correspondence, presentations and reports and liaise with various stakeholders. Commitment to the delivery of maintenance services with a customer focus. A sound knowledge of the educational facility and its surrounds. Ability to use common software packages i.e. word, excel, outlook plus have a practical knowledge of MS project. Strong interpersonal skills and effective business writing skills. Cost control and responsibility of managing budgets Reporting and analysis of various facilities functions. Personal Skills High level of interpersonal skills including the ability to relate to people from diverse backgrounds Demonstrated ability to contribute to the overall team direction and can work with limited supervision. Ability to manage time effectively and prioritise a range of tasks. Ability to work to tight deadlines and delegate/ prioritise effectively. Must possess an ability to work well in a team environment, whilst also being able to work autonomously. Experience Previous experience in the management of maintenance schedules and life cycle costing plans. Experience working in a service-based industry. Previous experience in managing or supervising a team. Previous experience in roles that require interaction with customers. Qualifications Associate Diploma or higher in Facilities Management or a related field. Trade licence in Electrical/ Communications, HVAC, Building/ Construction, Fire or Mechanical, or have experience deemed to be sufficient by Village Management. Current Australian Drivers Licence.
