We are seeking a horticulture (Mushroom) grower to join our mushroom farm located in Mittagong, NSW. This role is suited to an experienced horticulture grower seeking to make a meaningful contribution to sustainable food production. It provides an outstanding opportunity to gain practical, hands‑on experience, further refine agronomic expertise, and work within a supportive and collaborative environment focused on the cultivation of mushrooms. Key Responsibilities Prepare and inoculate growing substrates to create optimal growth parameters and exclude competing organisms Monitor incubation rooms to maintain and optimise growth parameters. Oversee production planning and implementation to identify areas for operational improvement. Track the effect of environmental conditions on crop production, including controlling temperature, humidity, and air circulation. Analyse, interpret and review harvest data to maintain and enhance productivity and efficiency. Oversee production practices to optimise cleaning, grading, trimming and packaging of mushrooms to meet market standards. Apply a strong theoretical knowledge of mushroom crops to optimise productivity and provide technical advice on agronomic practices. Audit farm practices and records to ensure compliance with company policies, procedures and industry best practices. Manage pest and disease control to meet biosecurity protocols; establishing routine sample collection and data analysis. Identify agricultural problems and research innovative solutions and techniques, including experimental design for trialling new production methods. Support the implementation of safety programs and contribute to a strong safety culture, to ensure all activities comply with relevant legislation and company policies related to WHS, HR, environmental, and quality standards. Requirements: Certificate III in Horticulture (Australian qualification preferred) One year plus of relevant work experience (preferably in Australia) Own vehicle to travel around sites. A good understanding of crop cultivation techniques, fertilization, pest management and irrigation systems. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in using computers for data management and analysis. Strong attention to detail, thoroughness, observation and problem-solving skills.
