About the role: Ethical Hire is currently looking for Disability Support Workers whom have experience caring for clients with complex support needs. You will play an integral role as part of the care team supporting an autistic teenager who uses a wheelchair. The participant experiences unique challenges and requires compassionate, respectful, and person-centred support. Your responsibilities will include assisting with personal care tasks such as showering, dressing, and personal hygiene, as well as medication administration. You will also provide support with light household duties, including vacuuming, mopping, and washing dishes. The role involves hoisting and manual handling, therefore experience operating electric or manual wheelchairs and shower commodes is essential. You will also assist with morning routines, including preparation for school. The participant requires consistent and supportive assistance to live a fulfilling life and work towards achieving their personal goals. Position requirements: Minimum 3 years of experience in disability care. Experience working with complex care participants. Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, or related fields. NDIS Worker Screening Check. CPR and First Aid certification. Current Working with Children check Australian Drivers Licence and use of own car Flexibility to work varied hours, including split shifts, weekends, public holidays, and school holidays.
