The NACC has a Director Governance position available for immediate filling in Brisbane, Canberra, Melbourne or Sydney. The key duties of the position include About the role The successful candidate will be required to undertake work with a high level of complexity or sensitivity under broad direction of the Chief Executive Officer. The Director Governance will lead a small team responsible for the Commission's governance encompassing corporate planning and reporting, audit and risk management, business continuity and secretariat functions. Key activities Support the Accountable Authority to ensure the organisation has effective frameworks, policies and procedures in place to meet the governance and accountability requirements set out in the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, the associated Rule and related policies and frameworks including the Commonwealth Risk Management Policy and the Commonwealth Fraud Control Framework. Be responsible for the delivery of the Commission's Corporate plan and Annual Report. Lead parliamentary and committee liaison and manage all associated activity, including preparations for Senate Estimates, questions on notice, parliamentary submissions and appearances. Be a key point of contact for governance-related activities from within the Attorney-General's portfolio and from other government entities seeking input from the Commission. Deliver secretariat services which add value to the Commission's executive committees producing high-quality documents such as reports, submissions, meeting papers and briefings. Provide quality advice to the Commission's Executive and to the Audit and Risk Committee. Provide leadership and technical expertise to the Executive and Business Services Branch. Set the direction of the team and your own work priorities to ensure the provision of timely and accurate advice, and play a role in coaching, guiding and developing employees. The NACC is a small agency. In addition to these activities, from time to time you may be asked to undertake tasks that are outside your usual span of duties but that are within the range of your capabilities. Supporting one another in this way provides opportunities for exposure across the agency and is an integral part of the NACC's positive workplace culture.
