Reporting to an Assistant Director and under broad guidance, the Senior Investigator/Senior Regulatory Compliance Officer will be responsible for undertaking or leading investigation, reviews, and compliance activities to ensure NDIS providers and workers are meeting their obligations under the NDIS Act. This role will use the full range of compliance and enforcement powers under the NDIS Act and Regulatory Powers Act to address provider and worker non-compliance and uphold the rights of, and promote the health, safety, and wellbeing of, people with disability receiving supports and services. Regulatory professionals administer and enforce government and corporate regulations and standards. The role acts in accordance with relevant legislation, policies, regulations, and standards. The key duties of the position include Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Undertake planning, conducting, initiating, and finalising compliance and investigation activities in line with relevant legislation, polices and standards. Utilising highly developed written communication skills to prepare and deliver briefs and reports on complex matters to ensure that non-compliance issues are identified, recorded, and addressed. Work with providers and workers to ensure they understand their obligations and where non-compliance has occurred, take the appropriate action to address issues and risks in a timely, efficient, and effective manner. Lead or assist with relevant compliance and investigation activities, under supervision, including, but not limited to: undertaking inspections and reviews, formal interviewing and taking statements, collecting, assessing, and handling exhibits, preparing briefs of evidence, information management and disclosure, applying powers, including executing warrants. Supporting and participating in compliance promotion and education campaigns to inform and educate providers, participants and the public about the Commission's functions and the requirements of relevant legislation and rules. Ensuring the professional development of team members through mentoring, coaching, performance reviews, and providing opportunities for skill-building in regulatory compliance and risk management. Working both independently and as part of a team and cultivating and maintaining productive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including subject matter experts, and state and Commonwealth partners. Make recommendations and decisions that allow for appropriate execution of delegations with due consideration for good administrative decision making, legislative obligations, strategic directions, goals, objectives, and Commission policies.
