Registration Recovery Officer role within the Animal Management Program based at our brand new Animal Management Centre. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to responsible pet ownership across the City of Logan and support compliance with registration requirements. As a Registration Recovery Officer, you will perform administrative tasks which play a key role in ensuring accurate animal records, and supporting Council's legislative responsibilities. You will be supported by an experienced team and will have opportunities to further develop your skills while making a meaningful impact on our organisation and the community we serve. This role involves: Identifying new unregistered cats and dogs across the city and ensure compliance through the promotion of responsible pet ownership and the administration of Local Laws and State legislation. Conducting telephone enquiries for unregistered cats and dogs to follow up on overdue registration and identification of new and unregistered cats and dogs. Implementing and monitoring continuous improvements to systems, processes and operational activities and ensure objectives are achieved. Attending or surveying residential properties where evidence cannot be obtained over the phone. Undertaking appropriate enforcement action for non-compliant animal keeping activities. Complete administration tasks such as data entry/maintenance, issuing infringement notices, collating and storing evidence in accordance with legislation. The ideal candidate will have: Have strong decision-making, communication, negotiation and customer service skills. Experience in fast paced customer service roles. Experience in dealing effectively with conflict situations. Computer literacy and knowledge on database programs. Knowledge of, or desire to learn Council policies and procedures relevant to the position. Ability to interact with domestic cats and dogs.
