Control Room Operator - Biomining Smithfield $37/hour Ongoing temp-to-perm opportunity About the Opportunity Our client is an innovative industrial biotechnology company specializing in biomining , a sustainable process that uses biological agents to extract valuable metals from electronic waste . Their operations rely on advanced automation, real-time monitoring, and data-driven process control to deliver an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional mining. They are currently seeking an experienced Control Room Operator to oversee and optimize the biomining process from a central control room. Key Responsibilities Real-time process monitoring: Continuously monitor key parameters such as pH, oxygen levels, microbial activity, temperature, and leachate composition using digital control systems and sensors. Data analysis & optimization: Interpret complex data to identify issues, improve process efficiency, and maintain stable operations. Process control adjustments: Make real-time adjustments to flow rates, nutrient dosing, temperature control, and other operational variables. Alarm management: Respond to system alarms, investigate abnormal conditions, initiate corrective actions, and escalate when required. Quality control: Monitor metal recovery performance and coordinate with laboratory testing to ensure product quality. Environmental monitoring: Track effluent quality and ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory requirements. System & equipment oversight: Identify potential equipment or system issues and coordinate maintenance activities to prevent downtime.
