Mater Hospital Springfield is seeking applications for Food Services Supervisor to join us in a permanent, full-time roles (weekdays). Based at our Springfield campus, these roles will be part of a landmark moment in Queensland healthcare at Mater Hospital Springfield — opening early 2026. This state of the art facility will meet the needs of the growing Greater Springfield region. With a mix of public and private beds across ICU, maternity, emergency and medical, surgical services, it’s set to care for over 200,000 patients annually. Salary range: $34.87 - $36.55 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900 access to many staff benefits! What you’ll be doing As a Food Services Supervisor at Mater Springfield, you’ll play a key role in ensuring our foodservice operations run smoothly, safely, and to the highest standard. You’ll supervise day-to-day kitchen activities, lead and support your team, and maintain a strong focus on quality, safety, and exceptional patient service. In this role, you will: Supervise and support foodservice staff in daily operations Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards Monitor performance and provide on-the-job coaching and training Conduct audits, quality checks, and patient service reviews Identify and address training needs and skill gaps within your team Maintain high levels of customer service for patients and visitors Report and act on safety risks, near misses, and equipment issues Work collaboratively with the Team Leader to achieve departmental KPIs About you You’re a hands-on hospitality professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and leads by example. You bring a strong service ethic, a focus on safety and quality, and a collaborative approach to managing people and processes. You will have: Certificate III in Hospitality or a related field (essential) Certificate IV in Frontline Management or equivalent (desirable) Experience in a supervisory role within foodservices or hospitality Sound knowledge of workplace health and safety and food safety requirements Strong communication and organisational skills Moderate physical fitness to work on your feet and handle kitchen equipment and trolleys Proficiency with computers and ability to learn industry systems quickly Why join us?
