ROLE PURPOSE The Junior Software Solutions Engineer will work with the other Solution Engineers, Account Managers, Technical Engineers and sometimes work closely with customers to facilitate and implement solutions that allow them to meet their overall objectives and goals. There are three key focus areas, the first working with the sales team in a pre-sales capacity to shape customer solutions. The second is to provide and maintain customers solutions. Finally, the role is also tasked with reducing service call rates by supporting and training the relevant service team members. Critical to the success of this role will be acting as a bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams/partners ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, cost effective, and aligned to Glory enterprise architecture standards. Key Responsibilities MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES Solution design & implementation Understand the Company’s software and solutions that are available and adapt them to customer needs. Translate business requirements into logical and physical solution designs. Assist in creating technical and non-technical documentation for use by customers and technical staff as required including solutions designs and diagrams, interface and integration specifications Support in implementing tests, and liaising with customers on testing the solution. Ensure that the solutions are aligned with enterprise architecture principles, standards, and roadmaps. Stakeholder Engagement Partner with sales team, sales directors, product managers, service managers, delivery teams and partners to understand requirements and constraints. Support pre-sales, RFPs and customers solution workshops where required. Assist in the development of innovative solutions for internal and external environments that will achieve customer objectives and goals. Technical Governance and Delivery Support Provide architectural oversight throughout the delivery lifecycle Review detailed designs and ensure alignment with approved engineers. Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies and trade-offs. Follow the software development lifecycle with implementing updates and solutions into customer and internal environments, completing or managing all software development tasks as necessary including but limited to business analysis, development, testing and pilot management. Actively communicate to customers and the business on the status of projects, issues and solutions. Implementation management Train customers and service team on solutions and systems that are implemented within the customer environment. Provide support as necessary for internal and external customers and manage resolutions on more complex issues. Continuous Improvement Contribute to the evolution of architecture standards, patterns, and best practices. Stay current with emerging technologies and industry standards. Drive simplification, reuse and cost optimisation across solutions. Skills, Knowledge & Expertise REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS Education Level: Tertiary education in Computer Science, software development or similar is preferred REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES Clear and concise English communication skills Analytical and curious mindset with the ability to solve problems Customer and team focused approach Self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and develop A level of commercial acumen Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Able to document requirements, manuals and scope of work documents Some understanding of project methodology, e.g. SCRUM, Agile, Waterfall is beneficial Able to work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Visio and MS Project Some understanding of front and back-end technologies is beneficial Some understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud hosting and core cyber security principles is beneficial Exposure to key programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, Python, as well as web technologies like HTML, & CSS is beneficial Some understanding of Database, SQL Server and SQL Query knowledge is beneficial Job Benefits Glory Values The Glory Values represent our commitment to collaboration, diversity and innovation.
