Walcha Council Part-Time, Permanent Position Walcha Council is seeking a Tourism Officer to assist our Tourism & Visitor Information Services Coordinator undertake all strategies and activities as outlined in Council's Delivery Program About the Role As a Tourism Officer you will assist with day to day operations of the Visitor Information Centre, provide support to our Tourism & Visitor Information Services Coordinator, participate in meetings between advisory committee and tourism operators and assist with research and submission of relevant tourism related grant applications. This is a Part-Time role working a minimum 5 day fortnight, alternating between a two day week and three day week. Key Duties & Responsibilities Assist with overall operations of the Visitor Information Centre ensuring that levels of customer service to members of the public are of a high standard Provide administration support including but not limited to preparation and administration of routine correspondence, minute taking, reports, raising and receiving purchase orders, record management and stock control Provide guidance to new and existing tourism operators in their endeavors to enhance current tourism activities and/or new tourism infrastructure and products Contribute to the planning, organisation and administration of various tourism events held throughout the year Work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail What You’ll Bring Vocational education and training in Tourism, or related discipline Demonstrated experience in event and project delivery Demonstrated experience in tourism marketing and promotion Well developed organisational, written and communication skills High level of skill in various computer programs, in particular Microsoft Office suite What We Offer This is a Part-Time Permanent position (5 days a fortnight) currently between $486.12 and $714.06 superannuation per week based on Band 1 Level 4, Grade 3 of the Local Government (State) Award 2023.
