Role Title: Armaments and Explosive Ordnance Integration Engineer Primary Responsibilities: The Armaments and Explosive Ordnance Integration Engineer is responsible for providing delegated technical authority to review, accept, and certify all Armaments and Explosive Ordnance (EO) integration engineering aspects for Defence Maritime vessels. The role ensures engineering activities and documentation comply with applicable legislation, standards, doctrine, and Authorised Engineering Organisation (AEO) requirements, while supporting the program in meeting shipbuilding contract milestones and the integrated master schedule. It also encompasses maintaining the organisation’s AEO authorisation and actively managing and reporting technical, environmental, and safety risks to enable safe, compliant, and successful delivery of program outcomes. The key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: - Perform the function of the Armaments and EO integration Engineer SME - Obtain and exercise a Delegated Technical Authority within the field of Armaments and EO integration Engineering - Undertake Design Review, Design Acceptance and Technical Certification of Armaments and EO integration Engineering functions within the vessels of the program - Review, comment and Approval of engineering deliverables in line with Contracted time frames - Identify any technical risks and develop technical risk assessments for the consideration of the Principal Engineer - Work with the System Safety team to identify any hazards resident within the Armaments and EO integration Engineering elements of the design and characterise the risks associated with these hazards - Support the management of requirements, engineering baselines, undertake stakeholder discussions, review ILS documentation, review technical reports and review V&V documentation as required - Participate in technical tender evaluation activities as required - Mentoring of developing engineers staff knowledge and skills within the Engineering Services team to ensure knowledge and know-how within the Program Essential Requirements: - Demonstrated long term experience in an Acquisition or Shipbuilding position - Bachelor's Degree in an applicable discipline (Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical) - Proven experience with design or design review of Armaments and EO systems Desirable Requirements: - Chartered Engineer with Engineers Australia or equivalent Required Security Clearance Level: NV1 Location: Canberra Weekly Hours: 40 Compensation Details: AUD The compensation range or hourly rate listed for this position is provided as a good-faith estimate of what the company intends to offer for this role at the time this posting was issued.
