A key focus of this position is the development, ownership, and delivery of scheduled reporting , ensuring leadership has clear visibility of service performance, risks, and improvement opportunities. In this role, you will act as a central connection point between IT teams, service providers, and business stakeholders, driving continual improvement and ensuring that all service management activities align with organisational requirements. You will be responsible for designing, managing, and automating reporting dashboards , using tools such as Power BI to provide actionable insights on SLAs, KPIs, incident trends, change performance, asset compliance, and other operational measures. As the reporting manager, you will ensure that data sources are accurate, reporting cadences are met, and dashboards support both operational teams and senior leadership decision‑making. You will lead improvements to reporting processes, maintain documentation, and champion the adoption of data‑driven service management practices. Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills are essential, as the role requires presenting insights, facilitating discussions, and guiding teams on using reports effectively. A relevant IT or business degree and industry certifications (e.g., ITIL) are highly regarded. This role requires a mandatory NV1 or NV2 AGSVA security clearance . Key Responsibilities Develop, manage, and deliver scheduled reporting across all service management processes, ensuring leadership has consistent visibility of operational performance, risks, and trends. Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards that provide actionable insights into SLAs, KPIs, incident trends, problem themes, change performance, asset compliance, and overall service health. Ensure accuracy and integrity of reporting data, coordinating with technical teams, service providers, and tool owners to validate sources and maintain alignment with Defence requirements. Automate reporting pipelines and dashboards to streamline data refresh cycles, reduce manual effort, and support real‑time or near‑real‑time visibility where possible. Lead continual improvement initiatives by analysing service performance data, identifying trends and systemic issues, and recommending targeted process or operational enhancements. Act as a central liaison between IT teams, business stakeholders, SIAM functions, and service providers to support effective communication, alignment, and reporting consistency. Own reporting cadences, ensuring all daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports are delivered on time, to the required quality, and in compliance with contractual or Defence obligations. Facilitate discussions and present insights to operational teams and senior leadership, enabling data‑driven decision‑making and proactive service management. Maintain and update process documentation, reporting workflows, data dictionaries, and knowledge bases to ensure transparency, repeatability, and audit readiness. Support audits and compliance activities, supplying required metrics, dashboards, or evidence generated from Power BI or other reporting tools. Provide guidance and training to staff on reporting tools, Power BI usage, and best practices for interpreting and acting on service management data. You will be successful in this role if you have: Skills and Experience Advanced analytical and problem‑solving skills , with the ability to interpret complex data sets and translate insights into actionable recommendations for operational and leadership teams. Strong Power BI capability , including experience designing, building, and maintaining interactive dashboards, reports, and automated data models that support service management processes. Experience managing scheduled reporting cycles , ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting requirements. High proficiency in ITSM processes and tools (e.g., Incident, Problem, Change, Asset Management), with experience using platforms such as ServiceNow or HP Service Manager to extract, analyse, and validate data. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills , including the ability to present insights, facilitate discussions, and explain technical or data‑driven findings to non‑technical audiences. Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple reporting streams, priorities, and deadlines within a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment. Demonstrated experience driving continual improvement , using trend analysis and performance data to advocate for and implement operational enhancements. Proficiency in documentation , including reporting workflows, data dictionaries, dashboards, and process guidelines to ensure repeatability and audit readiness. Experience collaborating across multi‑disciplinary teams , including IT operations, service providers, SIAM functions, and Defence stakeholders, to ensure reporting consistency and alignment. Relevant qualifications , such as a degree in Information Technology, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field, with industry certifications (e.g., ITIL, Power BI, ITSM) considered highly advantageous. Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 or NV2 AGSVA security clearance , as required for working with government clients.
