Community Engagement Worker Classification: SCHADS Level 3 Location: Capricorn Region Community Services – Rockhampton Employment Type: Permanent, Part-Time (30 hours per fortnight) Additional hours may be required by mutual agreement during November–December to support the Christmas Cheer Program, in line with Award requirements. About the Role We are seeking a passionate Community Engagement Worker to lead the planning and delivery of community development initiatives across the Rockhampton and Livingstone Shire Council areas. This role plays a key part in strengthening community connection and responding to local needs, including coordinating our annual Christmas Cheer Program . You will also oversee the recruitment, coordination, and support of volunteers for the Capricorn Region Salvation Army Corps, helping to create meaningful opportunities for people to serve their community. How You will make an impact: In this role, you will: Lead and facilitate community programs and activities that align with our mission and support people experiencing disadvantage Identify , develop, and deliver initiatives that respond to identified community needs, working within The Salvation Army’s mission and values Identify potential funding opportunities and collaborate with Corps Officers and the TSA Fundraising Team on grant applications Support the delivery of the Red Shield Appeal and other fundraising campaigns Build and maintain strong partnerships within local communities to support effective referrals and collaboration Actively connect with internal TSA services, including Corps programs, Doorway Emergency Relief , Moneycare , Doorways Case Work, Salvos Stores, and future services in the region Monitor programs to ensure they operate within agreed budgets What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in Community Services or Social Work ( minimum Certificate level), or equivalent relevant experience Experience in community engagement within a not-for-profit or faith-based organisation An understanding of, and respect for, the Christian faith and ethos of The Salvation Army Current First Aid Certificate (Desirable) Training in Mental Health First Aid and Trauma-Informed Care Current and valid Queensland Blue Card Current Queensland Driver’s Licence What we offer The Salvos offer eligible employee's a well-balanced package of meaningful benefits including: Salary packaging up to $15,900 tax free $2,650 meal entertainment benefit.
