The Company Lucan Group has partnered with an emerging specialist market leader in the industrial electrical and automation sector to appoint an experienced Electrical Systems Integrator (VSD/VFD). The role can be based anywhere on the East Coast of Australia, provided you can travel and have reasonable access to an airport. The Opportunity This is a technical hands-on, field-facing role providing end-to-end technical support, installation, commissioning and troubleshooting across electrical systems, with a strong focus on Variable Speed Drives (VSD) / Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) and associated control/automation hardware (PLC / HMI). You’ll work closely with internal stakeholders, contractors and customers to ensure installations are safe, compliant, reliable and aligned to scope. Key Responsibilities: Technical support (VSD/VFD focus) Provide technical support for VSD/VFD selection, setup, parameterisation and optimisation to meet application requirements. Diagnose and resolve drive and control system faults (including triage of priority project or breakdown calls) to restore operation quickly. Support customers and internal teams with technical advice, documentation and training related to VSD/VFD systems. Maintain consistency and standardisation across projects while meeting customer and site requirements. Installation & implementation Confirm electrical concepts meet customer needs and align with the project scope. Develop electrical installation scopes for contractors, including drive panels, field devices, sensors and automation hardware. Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and installation documentation. Ensure electrical installation hardware and methods meet WHS expectations and site requirements. Coordinate with design and project teams to ensure electrical scope is achievable, buildable and complete. Commissioning, testing & QA Lead/participate in commissioning of VSD/VFD systems, including functional testing and verification against design intent. Confirm installations comply with Australian Electrical Standards and local service installation rules. Witness and sign off testing activities prior to equipment leaving the workshop/supplier. Verify that the installed system meets scope and that the customer is satisfied at handover. Identify scope changes and support the Project Manager with variation documentation where required. Design support & continuous improvement Work with design to ensure electrical scope supports the overall project scope. Call on external consultants/engineers where required to validate calculations and technical assumptions. Identify and recommend improvements to control strategies, drive configurations and electrical design approaches. Stay up to date with VSD/VFD products, electrical automation technologies and relevant standards. You (current) Trade / tertiary electrical qualifications (Australia) Strong technical VSD / VFD and control systems experience across installation, commissioning and technical support Experience producing/working with electrical CAD (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical or similar) Experience using cable calculation software (cable sizing/voltage drop/derating) Ability to interpret designs, develop scopes/BOMs, and coordinate contractors and stakeholders Clear written and verbal communication skills and a practical, solutions-focused approach Highly regarded and strong customer service skills.
