Job Description Key Responsibilities and Functions To deliver initiatives associated with recreation in accordance with the Moira Shire Council Plan. Work with external stakeholders to deliver increased participation in sport and recreation across Moira To actively engage our community in consultation and planning processes for the improved use of existing recreational services and facilities. To identify opportunities to attract funding to deliver projects, sporting/recreational programs and events. To liaise with Community Asset Committees, community recreation reserves, Showgrounds and active recreational facilities Plan for and deliver outcomes of Council’s Recreation Strategy and Aquatic Strategy, Open Space Strategy, Small Town Sports Sustainability Strategy Consult with community providers and representatives to review and plan for the provision of recreation programs and develop policies and protocol accordingly. Prepare written reports, correspondence and other administrative tasks as required Identify learning and upskilling priorities that support the delivery of community training and development programs. Participate in organisational planning and relevant training programs. Support delivery of functions across the Community Wellbeing Development such as Arts, Culture, First Nations, Community Safety, Grants promotion and assessment and Volunteer recognition. Strong understanding of community capacity building, community, consultation, facilitation practices and grant application submissions. Ability to liaise and establish working relationships with residents, government authorities, service agencies and community groups. Well-developed communication skills including the capacity to prepare clear and timely advice, concise reports and briefing documents, and make oral and written presentations to diverse stakeholder groups and Council. Desirable qualifications and experience Demonstrated experience in project and event management and facilitating community consultation. Broad knowledge of issues, trends and Government policies and priorities impacting communities in rural and regional Victoria.
