Our client is seeking an experienced Network Architect to lead the transformation of their networking environment. This 12 month contract role will suit someone with a strong background in networking combined with DevSecOps knowledge, as the environment is poised to transition into a NetSecOps operating model. In this role, you will collaborate closely with management to evolve a network that has been operational for many years, challenging existing partnerships, and steering the future direction towards a modern, code-based network infrastructure. Your key responsibilities will include: Contributing to the architectural design of next-generation network infrastructure, focusing on infrastructure as code and modern operating models. Engineering and overseeing the control pipeline to ensure smooth portability from service providers to internal management within agreed timeframes. Developing and defining strategic network security architectures, including reference architectures, design guardrails, and operating models that prevent architectural drift. Designing and implementing an end-to-end NetSecOps change pipeline encompassing risk assessment, approval, implementation, and recertification, embedding segregation of duties and RBAC. Integrating network security controls with enterprise observability platforms, asset management, logging, zero trust methodologies, ServiceNow workflows, and vulnerability management ecosystems. Ensuring rigorous governance by holding managed service providers accountable to measurable security and operational outcomes, conducting control effectiveness assessments, and challenging legacy and over-permissive access patterns. Driving automation and policy-as-code implementations within continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines. You will bring to the role: Strong expertise in network architecture with knowledge of DevSecOps models. Experience designing and governing complex network security frameworks, including segmentation, hybrid connectivity, and cloud networking. Capability to establish robust operational workflows aligned with enterprise governance and security standards. Excellent stakeholder management skills and the confidence to challenge the service provider to achieve improved security and operational efficiency. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a forward-thinking team who will be blending legacy systems with next-generation network and security technologies. If you are passionate about network security architecture and driving transformational change, join our client’s team and help shape their network’s secure future.
