The Position The position will be responsible for undertaking on ground works associated with AlburyCity's Natural Areas network. The position will assist in the protection, restoration and maintenance of natural areas, reserves and landscapes and land management projects. Tasks and responsibilities Assist in undertaking on ground protection, rehabilitation and maintenance works for AlburyCity's natural areas, reserves other public spaces Participation in the timely completion of work activities across the Natural Area network including revegetation activities, fencing, fauna monitoring and pest plant and animal control Participate in the planning, implementation and maintenance of revegetation and regeneration projects Assist in identifying and controlling pest plants and animals across the Natural Area network Participate in fuel hazard management and reduction activities Qualifications and experience TAFE qualification in Natural Resource Management or Conservation and Land Management or related discipline or relevant work experience AQF -3 Chemical Handling Certificate or equivalent Class C (standard) drivers' licence (compulsory to have and maintain) Relevant Natural Resource Management industry experience Engaging with internal and external stakeholders Demonstrated ability to use hand and power tools such as brush cutters and chainsaws Experience in identifying and control of pest plant and animal species Hours Based on a 38 hour week, with actual days and times being Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm, with an RDO in accordance with AlburyCity's RDO guidelines. These times may vary due to operational requirements and will be determined by the supervisor.
