Horticulturist – Turf Department of Parliamentary Services 24 months fixed-term, full-time position PoV 3.1, $79,122 - $87,599 About the role Our Building & Grounds team are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Turf specialist with strong horticultural knowledge and a commitment to maintaining high standards of turf care. Key duties include: Carrying out all aspects of turf maintenance including bowling green preparation, irrigation repairs and maintenance and ongoing improvement to all turf surfaces. Ensuring high standards of playing surfaces and lawn areas. Ensuring effective control of pests, weeds, and diseases in turf surfaces through the safe and appropriate application of chemical sprays where appropriate. Understanding and complying with all health, safety, and risk management policies and procedures, ensuring personal actions do not impact the health and safety of others, and keep updated with relevant legislation and regulations. The role will include assisting in the garden at times and regular site preparation for functions. About you The ideal candidate will possess excellent teamwork and communication skills, along with a proactive approach to health and safety. Essential skills include: Proficiency in turf maintenance, and irrigation systems. Experience in the safe application of chemical sprays for effective pest, weed, and disease control.
