About The Role As a Cyber Security Analyst, your day starts by swiftly addressing any overnight security alerts or incidents, working closely with IT operations teams to contain and resolve breaches. You'll conduct thorough security assessments of third-party vendors, ensuring they meet our stringent security requirements. Your role involves overseeing vulnerability scans, prioritising risks, and implementing mitigation strategies across our infrastructure. Additionally, you'll play a crucial part in enhancing security awareness among employees through training sessions. Your recommendations for security technologies will be vital in fortifying our defences. Documentation of incidents and investigations is essential for analysis and reporting. With your analytical skills and effective communication, you'll collaborate seamlessly with teams and stakeholders to maintain security policies and procedures. In our dynamic environment, your independence and prioritization will be key in safeguarding our assets. Key Responsibilities: Incident Response: Take a key role in incident response activities to promptly identify, contain, eradicate, and recover from security incidents and breaches. IT Operations: Collaborate with IT operations teams to implement and maintain security controls, configurations, and patches on network devices, servers, and endpoints. Third-Party Security Assessments: Conduct security assessments and evaluations of third-party vendors, suppliers, and partners to ensure compliance with security requirements and standards. Vulnerability Management: Perform regular reviews of vulnerability scan status to ensure IT Ops are managing such to mitigate security risks and exposures across the organisation’s infrastructure. Security Awareness: Assist with development and deliver security awareness training and materials to educate employees on cybersecurity best practices, policies, and procedures. Security Policies and Procedures: Assist with development, review, and update of security policies, procedures, and guidelines in accordance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organisational objectives. Security Incident Documentation: Document security incidents, investigations, findings, and remediation actions in detail to maintain an accurate record and facilitate post-incident analysis and reporting. Security Compliance: Assist in compliance efforts with relevant regulations, standards, and frameworks (e.g. Essential 8, NIST, CPS234, PCI DSS). Security Tools Evaluation: Evaluate, recommend, and implement security technologies, tools, and solutions to enhance the organisation’s security posture and capabilities, such as tools used for threat detection and malware analysis. What You’ll Bring Along with strong technical skills in information security, you will also demonstrate: Highly developed communication and time management skills. Minimum 1 year of relevant experience in Information security role. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Strong collaboration skills with internal stakeholders and external partners. Ability to identify when to delegate or escalate tasks. Flexibility to be available for out-of-hours schedules or unscheduled duties as required. A desire to grow and develop within MyState Bank . Relevant tertiary and industry qualifications (highly regarded).
