Job Description YOUR ROLE Reporting to the Manager, Complex Cases – Child Safety, you will lead the development and implementation of processes and practices for managing student sexualised behaviours and related incidents. You’ll coordinate risk assessments, triage, training, and compliance reporting, working in partnership with school leaders, internal MACS teams, and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will bring expertise in managing complex child safety matters and have the capacity to influence, support, and guide schools through high-risk incidents with compassion and professionalism. WHAT YOU WILL DO Design and implement a case management process for responding to student sexualised behaviours. Triage and assess incidents using a structured risk matrix. Lead incident coordination and ensure compliance with legislation and reporting requirements. Provide expert guidance to MACS schools and staff, promoting child safety standards and trauma-informed practice. Coordinate referrals to specialist services and regulatory bodies. Monitor and review cases, identify trends, and support continuous improvement through training and policy development. Deliver targeted professional learning to build capacity in responding to sexualised behaviours. Support other complex cases across the Child Safety team and contribute to broader safeguarding initiatives. ABOUT YOU Relevant tertiary qualification in a child safety-related discipline. Extensive experience in managing high-risk child safety matters in schools or related settings. Strong understanding of sexualised behaviours in children and related risk management. Demonstrated knowledge of Victoria’s Child Safe Standards and mandatory reporting obligations. Proven ability to implement new frameworks, influence stakeholders, and build child safety capability. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to navigate sensitive and complex issues. Experience designing and delivering professional learning in trauma-informed practice and protective behaviours.
