The role will provide support to residents of the Bridgehaven Program to assist them with meal preparation, serving, presentation and delivery of food and refreshments. The role will also contribute to menu planning to meet client needs and preferences and will assisting with cleaning & maintenance of food prep areas. Hours are negotiable between 9.00am to 3pm (Monday to Friday). Key responsibilities Food Service Assist with preparation of food in readiness for cooking and service. Assist with the presentation and distribution of meals and beverages. Preparation of food completed as per weekly menu plan and within allocated timelines. Standard of presentation and portion control is met. Safe Practice & Environment Assist with cleaning and storage of equipment, utensils, crockery, cutlery, etc. Maintain safe and hygienic work practices Equipment cleaned and stored in accordance with standard operating instructions. Cleaning products, equipment and utensils are used in accordance with Salvation Army safety and operating instructions Hazards and defective equipment are reported in line with TSA standard reporting guidelines Food Safety Ensure all food handling activities undertaken are in line with the Food Safety Legislation Completion of all documentation of cleaning tasks, food or equipment monitoring according to the requirements of individual work procedures. Ensure any food safety breach or issue of concern is reported to the Centre Manager. Infection control guidelines are maintained Food is handled and stored in accordance with food safety plan High standard of personal hygiene Confidentiality Ensure that any personal, private or sensitive information obtained regarding a client remains confidential. Client confidentiality maintained at all times. Qualifications and skills (desired/required) Strong verbal and written communication skills Ability to provide a high standard of customer service Understanding of and commitment to safe work and hygiene practices.
