Salary commencing at $78,842.82 per annum, plus 12% superannuation, commensurate with skills and experience. Band 4. The Opportunity Moonee Valley City Council is seeking a motivated and organised Venue Operations Assistant to support the delivery of high-quality performing arts programs, venue hire and day-to-day operations at the iconic Clocktower Centre. Working closely with the Team Leader Performing Arts Operations and Programs, this role plays a key part in ensuring services and programs are delivered efficiently, professionally and in line with Igniting Creativity in Moonee Valley 2023–2027. The position is cross-functional and hands-on, supporting venue operations, programming administration, front of house, box office, hospitality and customer service. Key Responsibilities Support the delivery of performing arts programs, events and community activations aligned with Council strategies. Administer venue hire enquiries, contracts, invoicing, production requirements and event documentation. Assist with operational procedures, financial administration, data management and reporting. Provide high-quality customer service to artists, hirers, patrons and community members. Support front of house, box office, hospitality and function services, including supervision of casual staff. Ensure compliance with OH&S, risk management, emergency and child safety requirements. Work collaboratively across teams and contribute to broader Council initiatives. Skills & Experience The ideal candidate will bring qualifications in arts, events or a related field (or demonstrated equivalent experience), along with practical experience supporting the planning and delivery of events, performing arts or community programs. You will have strong organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain accurate records and support financial processes such as invoicing and purchase orders. Experience in customer service, ideally within a performing arts, events or hospitality environment is essential, as is the ability to work confidently across multiple functions in a busy, event-based setting. You will be comfortable using digital systems such as venue booking, CRM, ticketing or financial systems, and have well-developed communication and interpersonal skills that allow you to build effective relationships with colleagues, artists, hirers and the community. A Responsible Service of Alcohol certificate, First Aid Level 2, Chief Fire Warden certification and a Working with Children Check are required, or a willingness to obtain them prior to commencement.
