The ACT Victims of Crime Commissioner (VOCC) is seeking an assessor with sound skills interpreting legislation to support decision making to work as part of the ACT Victims of Crime Financial Assistance Scheme (FAS). The FAS Assessor will assess and determine applications for victims of crime under the Victims of Crime (Financial Assistance) Act 2016 , managing an individual caseload of applications. The FAS Assessor makes timely, accurate and well-reasoned decisions about applications in accordance with legislation and policy. Eligibility/Other requirements: Tertiary qualification in law is highly desirable. Experience working with victims of crime, including people affected by domestic, family and sexual violence is highly desirable. Experience working with justice and community stakeholders is highly desirable. Prior to commencing this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 is required.
