What you'll do In this role you will safely operate heavy vehicles to deliver and collect linen, clinical and non-clinical supplies in line with road rules and legislative requirements. You will load and unload vehicles using approved equipment and follow health and safety standards. You will complete pre-operational checks, maintain accurate driving records and report incidents or vehicle faults promptly while representing Supply Chain Branch professionally. About you We are searching for someone who has: A safe and responsible driver with a clean driving record. A sound knowledge of chain of responsibility compliance. Capability of undertaking the physical demands of the role including loading and unloading trolleys and is physically fit. Safe work practices to ensure your own safety, and that of workmates, customers and the public. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable and professional behaviour when representing the business unit at delivery points. Adaptability and flexibility to run rotations with varying routes and schedules. Mandatory qualifications, registrations and other requirements A current Medium Rigid, Heavy Rigid, or (highly desirable) Heavy Combination licence, is a mandatory requirement, and must remain current for the duration of employment. A current Forklift or High Risk to Work licence would also be highly regarded. Movement and physical suitability to perform the manual handling tasks associated with completing the role. * It may be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment (Health Employment Directive No. 01/16): measles, mumps, rubella (MMR),varicella (chicken pox),pertussis (whooping cough),hepatitis B, tuberculosis.
