Purpose of the Role BGIS is seeking an experienced Portfolio Accountant to support accurate financial reporting, budgeting, and cost control across a key healthcare portfolio. Reporting to the Finance Manager, you will work closely with operational and commercial teams to deliver high-quality financial insights, ensure compliance, and strengthen financial governance across the contract. You will be part of a small, close-knit team based in our Melbourne CBD office, within a diverse BGIS environment that houses multiple contracts and teams. Key Responsibilities - Prepare monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and cost centre reporting - Ensure accurate accruals, journals, adjustments, and period-end close activities - Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes - Monitor budget performance and escalate risks or variances - Analyse actual vs budget results to identify cost improvement opportunities - Partner with Operations, Property, and Asset teams to ensure accurate cost allocation - Provide clear financial insights to support decision-making - Support ad-hoc commercial, audit, and business requests as required Education, Experience & Skills Essential: - Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field - Working toward CPA/CA (or equivalent) - Strong understanding of accounting standards and financial governance - Advanced Excel skills; Power BI or financial modelling experience highly regarded - Comfortable using digital systems and data-driven tools - Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills - A collaborative, can-do mindset with willingness to take on ad-hoc tasks Desirable: - Experience in Facilities Management (FM), property, or contract-based environments - Exposure to large, complex service contracts - Experience working within healthcare or regulated environments Workplace Flexibility This role will initially be based in our Melbourne CBD office.
