Your New Role: Logistics Coordinator Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Planning and coordinating the import and export of cargo from start to finish Liaising with global contacts including shipping lines, agencies and customers Generating various shipping documents as required Maintaining accounts and providing quotes for managed accounts Preparation of quotations for new business Following up on quotations for feedback and outcome; Understands the overall market - competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them Work both collaboratively and autonomously to identify areas of growth, opportunity and improvement Work both collaboratively and autonomously to pursue identified opportunities and convert into tangible business outcomes Provide product information and identify cross-sell and up-sell opportunities to achieve growth Participation in negotiation and closure of deals What you'll need to succeed A minimum of two years' experience in Logistics Coordinator/freight forwarding/ shipping industry is required; Knowledge and proficiency working with Cargo Wise or comparable freight system is required; Knowledge of air and sea freight, importing and exporting is required; Exposure to import/export processes and shipping documentation Be organised and efficient with a high level of attention to detail; Be eager to learn with keenness to work in a fast paced environment and to meet targets; Good people skills, ability to work cooperatively in a fast paced team environment; Strong customer service ethic and highly organized; Be able to work autonomously and take ownership of responsibilities, including retention of information and skills imparted; Be able to multi-task and prioritise What you'll get in return As a Logistics Coordinator you will have a brilliant career opportunity within the freight forwarding space where you will work in a mentoring and supportive environment with a collaborative operational team.
