About the role The Ministry Assistant supports the mission of Goulburn Corps by providing pastoral care, spiritual encouragement, and practical assistance that reflects the values of The Salvation Army. The role contributes to the life of the Corps through ministry support, participant engagement, and effective administration that enables smooth delivery of programs and community activities. This is a part time position (10 hours a week). Salary is in accordance with Hay Level 10. How you will make an impact Support and participate in the delivery of Pastoral care and discipleship activities under the guidance of the Corps Officer. Create a welcoming environment that reflects TSA mission, values, and encourages participants to engage with Corps activities. Support Corps and community members by offering pastoral care and guidance through the Positive Lifestyle Program (PLP) and collaborate in feedback processes to ensure support remains responsive and effective. Assisting the Corps Officer with administration duties for volunteer requirements including entering and updating volunteer records, onboarding and training, in adherence to organisational policies and procedures. Complete general administration tasks including data entry and recording of statistical information in various Information Systems (e.g. SAMIS) in accordance with TSA procedures, accurately and within agreed time frames. Other administrative duties including processing donations, banking, record management and other tasks as required. Assist with seasonal programs such as Christmas hampers, Red Shield Appeal activities, and other community outreach initiatives as directed by the Corps Officer. Maintaining up‑to‑date social media content and promoting events and activities in collaboration with the Corps Officer and ministry team. What you will bring A commitment to the Christian faith and mission of The Salvation Army. An ability to offer pastoral assistance, to offer prayer and to explain the Christian Gospel Capacity to facilitate groups and one to one with a particular focus e.g. faith-based group Proficient computer skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the ability to learn internal systems and databases. Successfully complete Positive Lifestyle Program (PLP) training.
