With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced GP wanting to train in IUD insertion to join the Womenâs Health Clinic on a 4-month rotation.  Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.  About the Role: Exciting opportunities exist for General Practitioners to train in IUD insertion for contraception as part of the Womenâs Health Clinics team at Northern Health. The General Practitioner â Womenâs Health Clinics IUD training roles will run for 4 months at a time and is aimed at general practitioners or general practitioner registrars who donât currently perform IUD insertion independently in their practice but would like to do so in future  Work will all be onsite.  These are Fractional Fixed term contracts of 4 hours/ fortnight. To be successful in this role you will have: Medical registration with the Medical Board of Australia under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with no conditions or restrictions Specialist Registration as a General Practitioner (FRACGP or ACCRM) or current General Practitioner trainee with RACGP Not currently performing IUD insertions independently in general practice Currently working in the Northern Health catchment area (DESIRABLE) Completed the Sexual Health Victoria Intrauterine (IUD) insertion and Removal Theory course â (DESIRABLE) Demonstrated interest and experience in the provision of Womenâs Healthcare Demonstrated effective communication skills  Next Steps . . .
