Position Overview We are seeking a passionate, skilled and experienced Cook (Indian Cuisine) to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. This is a genuine long-term position. As a full-time Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Indian dishes to perfection. Key Tasks: Preparing, seasoning, and cooking a wide range of authentic Indian dishes using traditional and modern cooking techniques. Follow recipes and ensure all dishes are prepared according to the restaurant standards and recipes Planning menus in consultation with management and assisting with food costing and portion control Preparing and cooking meals to order while ensuring consistency in quality, taste, and presentation Monitoring food quality and minimising food wastage through effective stock rotation and portion control Ordering ingredients, checking deliveries, and managing stock levels Ensuring compliance with food safety standards, hygiene regulations, and workplace health and safety requirements Operating and maintaining commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently Assisting in the supervision and training of kitchen hands and junior staff as required Maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment at all times Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with the team to develop new dishes and improve existing recipes Train and supervise junior kitchen staff if required Keep up to date with industry trends and new cooking techniques Always adhere to company policies and procedures Other duties as assigned by the Head Chef or management team Skills and Experience Required Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience as a Cook in a fast-paced restaurant or similar environment Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery/ Kitchen Management Strong knowledge of Indian spices, ingredients, and regional cooking methods Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment Good time management, organisational, and communication skills Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes and techniques We offer a competitive salary of $75,000 to $80,000 plus superannuation, as well as opportunities for career growth and development.
