The Ormsby Residential Aged Care Home Working closely with the Lifestyle team the Bus Driver is responsible for providing driving services for, and to ensure safe and comfortable transport of Residents to a range of local areas. Your day will involve driving the bus, helping residents of differing abilities on and off the bus, ensuring proper record keeping and logs for the bus and cleaning the bus as required. We are looking for someone who is a good problem solver, who uses initiative, and demonstrates good presentation and customer service at all times. The Role Putting equipment (e.g. mobility aids) and resident shopping into the bus Folding and unfolding mobility aids Staying with residents to allow staff to attend to other's needs Engaging with residents, encouraging and supporting them to engage in the outing Aiding residents with simple mobilisation including pushing a resident in a wheelchair (where trained to do so) Share with the Activities Officer / Lifestyle Coordinator at the end of your shift, a list of residents you have spoken to and information on topics discussed Deliver a high level of customer service, including the timely provision of agreed services to residents/clients and internal customers Drive in accordance with road and safety requirements maintaining due care at all times Our successful driver will possess the following: Experience driving a bus is essential Experience in aged care or community work is preferable Manual handling experience Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and all levels of staff Strong passion for working with the elderly Mandatory requirements: Current QLD driver licence LR class licence for driving buses of 22 passenger capacity or less Be able to pass a pre ‐ employment physical examination and medical history check Evidence of Australian Work Rights Evidence of Safe driving record (obtained via Queensland Transport) Willing to apply for a National Police Check Our Benefits We provide a work culture that values you and invests in your career Generous salary packaging and not-for-profit tax benefits – claim up to $15,900 tax free plus additional $2650 in entertainment per year Private health insurance discounts An Employee Assistance Program for staff and family Career progression and development opportunities Range of discounts (300) Apply Now Our application process takes less than 10 minutes.
