This exciting, ongoing hybrid role within the Finance and Analytics Branch at The Administrative Review Tribunal is based in Sydney. About the opportunity Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Senior Financial Accountants role is to ensure all daily finance transactions are processed in an efficient and timely manner. The role provides administrative and clerical support by processing month end journals, reconciling balance sheet accounts, monitoring invoice payments, and supporting the Team Leader by assisting to manage a small team of Finance Officers and keeping detailed records of all transactions. About the team The Financial Accounting team currently has eight staff members, including this role, and operates on a hybrid arrangement with two days per week in the office. The key duties of the position include Financial Accounting : Prepare and process journals at the end of each month. Upload trial balance at the end of month to the Central Budget Management System (CBMS), maintaining the asset register for acquisitions and disposals and regularly reviewing and maintaining the ART Asset Accounting Policy. Management support: Support the Team Leader by monitoring the workloads and allocating work as needed to a small team of Finance Officers responsible for processing banking, accounts payable and receivable. Provide ongoing coaching, guidance, and financial accounting advice to less experienced team members to ensure accurate and effective data entry and records management. Stakeholder managemen t: Build and maintain productive, collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels. Provide sound and accurate advice and support to ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies (such as the ART Asset Accounting Policy), guidelines, accounting standards and practices About you: To be successful you will have: Excellent attention to detail and experience in ensuring accurate processing of all financial transactions. Knowledge of and experience in implementing accounting principles and practices, including relevant legislation, policies, and guidelines. Demonstrated experience in using financial systems (e.g. SAP) and applications (e.g. Excel) to extract and anlyse data. Well-developed ability to build rapport and maintain relationships with internal and external clients and stakeholders.
