Company Overview : The Gilbert Family Wine Company is a family-owned Australian winery, producing premium brands; Gilbert, Gilbert Gilbert and Regional Blends. In addition to our Cellar Door operations located in Mudgee NSW, we offer custom winemaking/production, wine export, and wholesale distribution through Wineworks of Australia winery. With grapes sourced from our vineyards in Orange Mudgee (NSW) and Eden Valley (SA), we are dedicated to crafting exceptional wines while embracing sustainable and innovative practices. Position Objective: We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead and oversee the overall operations of our company; driving growth, profitability and operational excellence. This role will be responsible for developing and executing strategic plans across sales, marketing and business operations; with a prime focus on the China & South-East Asia markets. As General Manager you will ensure the highest quality standards, strengthen relationships with our consumers, clients & corporate partners; and to foster collaboration across all departments to achieve sustainable commercial success. Requirements: This role requires a highly motivated, personable, result driven individual, who is prepared to take on this pivotal role representing us in to a newer marketplace. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and execute strategic plans across our branded wine portfolio, online presence and relevant business mediums to achieve long-term growth and stable profitability 2. Oversee key operations, including sales, marketing, business and administration – ensuring alignment with commercial goals 3. Manage to maintain annual budgets, financial targets, and resource allocation across brand development, sales, export, and client services 4. Support the management team; in focusing on workforce planning, staff performance, capability development and maintaining safe/compliant WHS practices 5. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations (in conjunction with others) – including Wine Australia export requirements, alcohol licensing, WHS, food safety, and industry governance 6. Build and maintain strong relationships with distributors, export partners, wine-making clients, industry bodies, government agencies, and other key parties 7. Identify business risks and opportunities, providing strategic insights and performance reports to the Managing Director to support informed decision-making Skills & Qualifications: 1. Bachelor's degree in – Business, Marketing or related field. 2. Proven experience in senior management within the manufacturing wine industry 3. Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and commercial operations 4. Exceptional leadership, team development and communication skills 5. Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building/sustaining abilities 6. Knowledge/understanding of International Trade – extensive business networks and resources highly favoured 7.
