The Opportunity As the Senior Media Adviser at Medicines Australia, you will shape the organisation’s voice and influence, leading media engagement and speechwriting for the CEO and the Chair. Build and maintain strong relationships with journalists, editors, trade press, key media, and government stakeholders. Draft high-quality media materials, including press releases, statements, talking points, speeches, and event briefs. Proactively identify media opportunities and pitch stories to raise the profile of the industry. Support the CEO and Chair in preparing for interviews, speeches, and public announcements. The Ideal Person You will bring over 5 years’ experience in media, journalism, public affairs, or government communications, ideally within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or a related industry, or at a peak industry body. In addition, you will need: Tertiary qualification in a related discipline including communications, media, journalism or public affairs. Experience writing speeches for high-level senior executives. Proven ability to provide media and communications advice to senior stakeholders, manage complex media issues, and responding effectively to emerging media opportunities and challenges. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including government, industry, clinicians, academia, and patient groups, to inform and support communication and policy outcomes. Salary / Location $140k - $160k 12% super Full-time permanent role Office located in Deakin, Canberra Additional Benefits Ability to work from home flexibly up to two days per week after an initial onboarding period.
