The Role Key responsibilities include: Providing expert financial and management accounting support, with a focus on project accounting, financial systems, and compliance with government frameworks Preparing and monitoring budgets, including program budgets, to track expenditure against forecasts and provide variance analysis Assisting with month-end financial processes, financial modelling, and analysis Managing stakeholder relationships by providing financial insights and supporting teams through budgetary and operational changes Ensuring accurate budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting The Ideal Person We are seeking experienced Management Accountants or Finance Business Partners with strong attention to detail and analytical capability. You thrive in a fast-paced environment. You will hold relevant qualifications in accounting or finance and possess relevant experience. Familiarity with SAP, TM1, or similar financial tools is an advantage. You may come from one of the following backgrounds: Experience in a Big 4 or other consulting firm working with Federal Government clients APS6 level experience as a Management Accountant or Finance Business Partner, with solid tenure and an interest in a new departmental environment An experienced Management Accountant from a large commercial or not for profit organisation Candidates must be Australian citizen and hold an existing security clearance.
